How Does Nollie's  Citizens for Quality Education, Inc. Benefit the Community?

The program of work for Nollie's Citizens for Quality Education(NCQE) is intended to transform the culture of public education to create a first-rate, quality public education system for all families in Holmes County.  In order to do this, parents, students and teachers must work together to develop a clear vision, effective strategies and a meaningful program of work through which to broaden the base of support in the county.  In this way it is possible to impact the formation of education policy in Holmes County.

NCQE in partnership with the Mississippi Delta Catalyst Roundtable (The Roundtable), a coalition of grassroots community groups from 10 counties working to define a quality public education through the lens of the African~American community. In addition, we are building a process through which to define the elements of a healthy school in which there is effective parent and student engagement.  The Roundtable is supporting NCQE in its work in Holmes County to pool its strength and resources with African-American families in other counties, across traditional geographic and political barriers, to impact the formation of education policy at the state level.
